French language learning resources in Cork, Ireland


Below is a short list of resources that might help you if you are learning French in Cork. Did we miss anything?

LANGUAGE EXCHANGE

Cork French / English language exchange - we meet at 8pm on Mondays in Electric, 41 South Mall. Come along to practise your French / English with native speakers in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It's free and open to all!



BOOKS 

Cork City Library - they have books in French (grands classiques de la littérature française as well as modern writers) that you can borrow. You can also borrow books about French history and culture from some of the Cork City Library branches.

Vibes and Scribes - they often stock second-hand books in French in their bookshop on Lavitt's Quay. See their website for location details and opening hours.


MOVIES

Cork City Library - you can borrow DVDs in French (classics of French cinema and modern films) from many branches of the library, including the City Library, located on Grand Parade.

Triskel Arts Centre - they often show French language movies at the Triskel. Upcoming films include Varda by Agnès about the celebrated French movie director, Agnès Varda and a season of Éric Rohmer films. See their cinema website for details.

Cork Cine Club - they often show French language movies during the season. It starts up again in September. See their website for info.
